Abstract: Este artigo apresenta uma proposta de Dissemina o Seletiva da Informa o (DSI) para Bibliotecas Universitárias (BUs) elaborada a partir dos fundamentos teóricos e práticos do Customer Relationship Management (CRM), conhecido como um conjunto de conceitos, constru es e ferramentas composto por estratégia, processo, software e hardware. O estudo foi desenvolvido por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, análise documental e estudos de caso, tratando das quatro fases do CRM denominadas análise estratégica, planejamento, implementa o e controle. Os resultados do estudo podem subsidiar as BUs na implementa o de a es que visem à melhoria do processo de DSI, contribuindo para a satisfa o dos usuários, para a consolida o de relacionamentos e para o ge-renciamento dos usuários por meio da tecnolo-gia da informa o e dos instrumentos do CRM.
Long-term survival in elderly patients with a do-not-intubate order treated with noninvasive mechanical ventilation

A particular issue is represented by the outcome of NIMV in patients referred to the emergency department for ARF and with a do-not-intubate (DNI) status because of advanced age or excessively critical conditions. This study evaluated long-term survival in a group of elderly patients with acute hypercapnic ARF who had a DNI order and who were successfully treated by NIMV.Methods: The population consisted of 54 patients with a favorable outcome after NIMV for ARF. They were followed up for 3 years by regular control visits, with at least one visit every 4 months, or as needed according to the patient’s condition. Of these, 31 continued NIMV at home and 23 were on long-term oxygen therapy (LTOT) alone.Results: A total of 16 of the 52 patients had not survived at the 1-year follow-up, and another eight patients died during the 3-year observation, with an overall mortality rate of 30.8% after 1 year and 46.2% after 3 years. Comparing patients who continued NIMV at home with those who were on LTOT alone, 9 of the 29 patients on home NIMV died (6 after 1 year and 3 after 3 years) and 15 of the 23 patients on LTOT alone died (10 after 1 year and 5 after 3 years).Conclusion: These results show that elderly patients with ARF successfully treated by NIMV following a DNI order have a satisfactory long-term survival.Keywords: COPD, acute respiratory failure, mortality rate, respiratory failure

Abstract: purpose: corneal graft rejection suppression after intramus-cular cyclosporine administration at different periods of time was studied on a penetrating keratoplasty rejection model in the rat. methods: inbred lewis rats were used as recipients and fischer rats were used as donors in a orthotopic rejection model of corneal transplantation. intramuscular injection of cyclosporine 10 mg/kg per day was administered up to the 30th postoperative day in 3 groups with different starting periods: at the day of surgery, at the 7th , and at the 9th postoperative day. grafts were evaluated through clinical and histological examination. results: the corneal grafts developed a 100% rejection in about 3 weeks after the penetrating keratoplasty in the control group (n = 5) in which no cyclosporine was adminis-tered. graft rejection was detected in one case in the groups in which cyclosporine was administered (n = 15), but the process was inhibited during the study period. histological studies confirmed the clinical evaluations. conclusions: these data indicate that intramuscular cyclosporine may control the corneal graft rejection, even during the active phase.

Abstract: currently, traditional microscopy is used to detect frauds in ground coffee. a more efficient and rapid microscopical method, scanning electronic microscopy (sem), is suggested as an alternative to the traditional microscopy. pure coffee was compared to coffee samples adulterated with rye, barley, corn and wheat at 2,5, 5 and 10% levels. contrary of official microscopy, starch granules, the main component of all cereals, were detected easily in the adulterated coffee mixtures with sem. it is suggested sem as a method to detect coffee adulteration with cereals.
Comportamento consumidor, hábitos alimentares e consumo de televis?o por escolares de Florianópolis

Abstract: objective: to identify the consumer behavior of a small sample of students (pilot study), regarding their eating habits and influence of television. methods: this is a pilot study with 57 students aging from 7 to 10 years attending the elementary grades of a private school located in florianópolis (sc). a questionnaire developed specifically for this research was used and anthropometric assessment was done. the data were analyzed using association tests (pearson′s chi-square test -c2) and analysis of variance. the differences were considered significant when p<0.05. results: all students had television sets at home; 75.0% in their own bedrooms. most of them snacked while watching television (98.0%) or ate their meals with the television on (89.5%). weekly intakes of fruit and vegetables were way below the ideal quantities proposed by the food pyramid. students classified as frequent viewers (4 or more times a day) ate fewer vegetables than did the moderate ones. anthropometric evaluation indicated that 23.6% were overweight/obese and 9.1% presented central adiposity. conclusion: results suggest that strategies must be employed, such as parent's counseling and development of school programs, in order to prevent possible health problems in the studied population.
Evaluación de la calidad durante el almacenamiento de nueces Pecán [Carya illinoinensis (Wangenh.) C. Koch] acondicionadas en diferentes envases

Abstract: In the present work, the quality changes of pecan nuts stored in nylon-polyethylene plastic film under vacuum and in polypropylene plastic recipients at ambient temperature for 150 days were evaluated. The nutritional composition, fatty acid composition and tocopherol content of the pecan nuts reveal interesting nutritional characteristics and an oil with high contents of mono-unsaturated fatty acids and 3-tocopherol. During storage, moisture content did not suffer significant changes, but a gradual and significant darkening of the surface of the nuts occurred. The changes in acid value, peroxide value and specific extinction of the extracted oil were significant. The microbiological quality was excellent and the presence of Salmonella sp. was not detected. Through sensory analysis, the shelf-life of the product was determined as 120 days, without significant differences between the two types of packaging used. En el presente trabajo, fueron evaluadas las alteraciones en la calidad de nueces Pecán almacenadas en película plástica de nilón-polietileno al vacío y en recipientes plásticos de polipropileno, en temperatura ambiente, durante 150 días. La composición nutricional, en ácidos grasos (62,5 % de ácido oleico) y el contenido de tocoferoles (30 mg/kg de 3-tocoferol) de las nueces Pecán, indican características nutricionales interesantes. Durante el almacenamiento de las nueces, el contenido de humedad no sufrió cambios significativos, mas ocurrió un oscurecimiento gradual y significativo de la superficie de las nueces. Las alteraciones en los índices de acidez (0,17 - 0,37 y 0,19 - 0,57 inicial y final para los envases de película plástica y polipropileno, respectivamente), peróxido (1,0 - 2,7 y 1,1 - 4,7) y extinción específica a 232 nm (0,98 - 1,99 y 0,96 - 2,16) y 270 nm (0,11 - 0,33 y 0,04 - 0,15) en el aceite extraído fueron significativas. La calidad microbiológica fue excelente y no fue detectada la presencia de Salmonella sp. A través del análisis sensorial se determinó la vida de anaquel del producto como 120 días, sin diferencias significativas entre los dos tipos de envases utilizados.

Abstract: O artigo tem por objetivo geral discutir os fundamentos do paradigma cartesiano e da complexidade e seus reflexos na educa o, visando apresentar o Programa de integra o vertical e horizontal de conteúdos programáticos como estratégia de interdisciplinaridade no Curso de Gradua o em Ciências Contábeis, bacharelado, frente ao paradigma da complexidade. O conceito de paradigma cartesiano e da complexidade e seus reflexos na educa o e o assunto interdisciplinaridade com suas respectivas modalidades e classifica es é discutido no referencial teórico. A pesquisa é exploratória, descritiva e interpretativa. Os dados e as informa es foram coletados por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, observa o participante e análise documental, sendo analisados de modo qualitativo. O Programa proposto tem por objetivo geral fomentar a discuss o, a avalia o e a socializa o de referenciais teóricos, experiências de ensino-aprendizagem, sistema de avalia o e bibliografias, visando identificar estratégias para incentivar o diálogo entre disciplinas, professores, alunos e gestor do Curso de Gradua o em Ciências Contábeis, bacharelado, e a constitui o de comunidades de prática no ambito do Curso. A metodologia de operacionaliza o do Programa se processa por meio da integra o sistêmica e complementar, quando da realiza o de reuni es de sensibiliza o, de reuni es pedagógicas e de reuni es de socializa o e de feedback. Percebe-se que diferentes modalidades de interdisciplinaridade podem ser incentivadas por meio da ado o do Programa.
MARKETING, H BITOS ALIMENTARES E ESTADO NUTRICIONAL: ASPECTOS POL MICOS QUANDO O TEMA ‰ O CONSUMIDOR INFANTIL

Abstract: O comportamento da crian §a como consumidora vem sendo estudado desde a d cada de 1970. De l para c , o poder econ ′mico e a influ ancia das crian §as sobre as decis μes familiares aumentou consideravelmente, ao mesmo tempo em que houve o desenvolvimento de um amplo e massivo espectro de estrat gias direcionadas especificamente ao consumidor infantil. O aumento na obesidade infantil tem atra -do aten § £o para o papel da m -dia: estima-se que crian §as e adolescentes gastem em m dia 5- 6 horas por dia assistindo televis £o, e o n omero de comerciais veiculados aumentou de 11 para 40 por hora nas oltimas duas d cadas. No Brasil, alimentos s £o os produtos mais freq entemente anunciados, sendo que quase 60% deles pertencem ao grupo representado por gorduras, 3leos, a § ocares e doces na pir ¢mide alimentar. De um modo geral, crian §as e adolescentes n £o t am maturidade suficiente para controlar suas decis μes de compra; apesar da regulamenta § £o envolvendo o marketing de alimentos para crian §as estar evoluindo rapidamente, s £o poucos os modelos que podem gerar o desenvolvimento de estrat gias futuras eficazes. Ainda existe muito a ser aprendido sobre o processo de socializa § £o do consumidor. O campo est aberto para pesquisas que analisem aspectos culturais e tecnol 3gicos, avaliando os conceitos atuais e suscitando novas quest μes.
CHEMICAL, MICROBIOLOGICAL AND SENSORY CHANGES OF MARINADE MUSSEL (PERNA PERNA, LINN ‰ 1758) STORAGE AT 4 oC

Abstract: This study was carried out to evaluate the physical-chemical, microbiological and sensory attributes of the brown mussel (Perna perna) marinated with two different sauces. Microbiological, chemical and sensory changes were monitored, at 4 oC ( ±1 oC), for a period of 50 days. At the end of this period of storage, in both preparations, the total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N) remained lower than the upper limit (35 mg TVB-N per 100 g fish flesh) and pH and acidity were insignificant. On the basis of sensory analyses, the mussels marinated in the two sauces remained stable during cold storage for 42 and 21 days, respectively.

Abstract: [Portuguese] Identificam-se os conceitos elementares e os quatro pilares do Customer Relationship Management (CRM) – identificar, diferenciar, interagir e personalizar – aplicando-os ao contexto das unidades informacionais. Procura-se estabelecer pontos de convergência entre os conceitos e pilares de CRM com os módulos usuário dos aplicativos de gest o utilizados por bibliotecas, com vistas a verificar quais elementos de CRM têm sido contemplados na implementa o de software para bibliotecas. A pesquisa é caracterizada como sendo do tipo levantamento bibliográfico, verificando estudos sobre o tema CRM e Software para Bibliotecas. Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa, priorizando a análise e interpreta o dos dados a fim de estabelecer a rela o entre o CRM e a gest o de usuário, contribuindo para o fortalecimento teórico na área de Servi os de Referência em Biblioteconomia a fim de otimizar a satisfa o do usuário. [English] The CRM IDIC strategy and its ordinary concepts are identified on the information units context. Aiming to determine the approach for these concepts and connect it with LMS customer issues, trying to verify which elements of CRM has been incorporated on LMS implementation. CRM and LMS review with focus as libraries software’s . Qualitative research, which data analysis and interpretation to settle the relations concerning CRM and users management, contributing to theoretical strengthen of Reference Services in Library Science to optimize users satisfaction.
