Satisfa??o sexual feminina: Rela??o com funcionamento sexual e comportamentos sexuais
Pechorro,Pedro; Diniz,António; Vieira,Rui;
Análise Psicológica , 2009,
Abstract: the goal of the present study was to understand the relation between sexual satisfaction and sexual function in women, and also the relation between sexual satisfaction and sexual behaviors in women. the index of sexual satisfaction (iss: hudson, harrison, & crosscup, 1981) and the female sexual function index (tsfi: rosen et al., 2000) were used as measures. a convenience sample was recruited from the general population (n=152; age range=26-70; mean age=41). the results showed no significant relation between sexual satisfaction and sexual satisfaction and the sexual behavior of caresses and foreplay.
Funcionamento sexual e ciclo-de-vida em mulheres portuguesas
Pechorro,Pedro; Diniz,António; Vieira,Rui;
Análise Psicológica , 2010,
Abstract: the purpose of this study was to investigate changes in sexual function across the life span in a sample of portuguese women, and the prevalence of sexual problems. the study consisted of a sample of 154 portuguese women (range 26 to 70 years), divided into three groups according to their ages: 26-35 years (n=66), 40-49 years (n=45), and 54-70 years (n=43). the evaluation was carried out with two self-report questionnaires: the female sexual function index (fsfi; rosen et al., 2000), with it’s domains of desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, and pain, and with the index of sexual satisfaction (iss; hudson et al., 1981), that measures couple sexual satisfaction. no differences were found between the 26-35 years group and the 40-49 years group regarding the fsfi and it’s domains, and the iss. when comparing the first two groups with the 54-70 years group statistically significant differences were found in the fsfi total score and in it’s domains of desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, and satisfaction; no differences were found in the pain domain. statistically significant differences were also found in the iss total score. there is a significant decline in female sexual function and in sexual satisfaction associated with older age and menopause.
Caracteriza??o psicológica de uma amostra forense de abusadores sexuais
Pechorro,Pedro Santos; Poiares,Carlos; Vieira,Rui Xavier;
Análise Psicológica , 2008,
Abstract: in this article the authors investigated the characteristics of the psychological profiles of 41 child sex offenders (age range=17-43 years; mean age=43 years) placed in state prisons. the millon clinical multiaxial inventory ii (millon, 1987) and some descriptive variables (e.g., victim?s sex and age, sexual behaviors) were used. the results showed a wide range of possible psychological profiles, some more frequent than others, which don?t corroborate the existence of a single typical psychological profile. the results put in question the use of psychological evaluations as juridical evidence.
Do incarcerated male juvenile recidivists differ from first

Abstract: The current study analyzed the relation between recidivism and self-reported psychopathic traits, more specifically the callous-unemotional, impulsivity, and narcissism dimensions of the psychopathy construct. The Antisocial Process Screening Device – Self-Report (APSD-SR) and other self-report instruments independently measuring the three different dimensions of psychopathy (that is, Inventory of Callous-Unemotional Traits, Barratt Impulsiveness Scale-11, Narcissistic Personality-13) were completed by a sample of incarcerated male juvenile offenders (N = 244) who were retrospectively classified as recidivists versus non-recidivists. The only statistically significant relation found between recidivism and self-reported psychopathic traits after controlling for age and socioeconomic status was with the impulsivity dimension of the APSD-SR. Additionally, results showed that recidivism was associated with alcohol use but not with drug use or crime seriousness
A Brief Measure of Narcissism Among Female Juvenile Delinquents and Community Youths: The Narcissistic Personality Inventory–13

Abstract: Research on narcissism has a long tradition, but there is limited knowledge regarding its application among female youth, especially for forensic samples of incarcerated female youth. Drawing on 377 female adolescents (103 selected from forensic settings and 274 selected from school settings) from Portugal, the current study is the first to examine simultaneously the psychometric properties of a brief version of the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI-13) among females drawn from incarcerated and community settings. The results support the three-factor structure model of narcissism after the removal of one item due to its low factor loading. Internal consistency, convergent validity, and discriminant validity showed promising results. In terms of criterion-related validity, significant associations were found with criterion-related variables such as age of criminal onset, conduct disorder, crime severity, violent crimes, and alcohol and drug use. The findings provide support for use of the NPI-13 among female juveniles
The Adapted Self

- , 2019, DOI: 10.1177/0306624X18811595
Abstract: Self-report delinquency scales have contributed greatly to the contemporary basis of our understanding of juvenile delinquency. Nevertheless, they have not been immune to criticism and further improvement and extensive measurement research is still necessary. The present study examined the psychometric properties of one such measure of self-reported delinquency, the Adapted Self-Report Delinquency Scale (ASRDS). The ASRDS was administered to a Portuguese sample of male youths (N = 470, 12-20 years of age), subdivided into a forensic sample (n = 217) and a school sample (n = 253). The Portuguese version of the ASRDS demonstrated satisfactory psychometric properties, in terms of its factor structure, internal consistency, convergent validity, discriminant validity, criterion-related validity, and known-groups validity, thereby justifying its use among this population
Psychometric Properties of Two Short Versions of the Inventory of Callous–Unemotional Traits Among Incarcerated Youth

- , 2018, DOI: 10.1177/1063426617717940
Abstract: Accumulating evidence shows callous–unemotional (CU) traits to delineate a subgroup of youth with unique etiological underpinnings to their conduct problems. Due to its inclusion as a conduct disorder specifier in Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM-5), research that evaluates the psychometric properties of measures used to assess this construct is essential. The present study contributes to this area of investigation by examining two recently developed brief versions (10- and 12-item) of the Inventory of Callous–Unemotional Traits (ICU) among a Portuguese sample of incarcerated male juvenile offenders (N = 221). Each of these shortened versions demonstrated evidence in terms of factor structure, internal consistency, and convergent/discriminant validity with theoretically meaningful constructs. In line with prior research, there was evidence of unique correlations between separate ICU subscales and several outcomes of interest. Study findings indicate that the two shortened versions of the ICU, and particularly the ICU-12, may offer researchers and clinicians a relatively brief and psychometrically sound means of assessing CU traits

Abstract: Aggression can be considered a multidimensional construct that influences various forms of antisocial behavior, including juvenile delinquency and conduct problems. The aim of the present study was to assess the psychometric properties of the Brief Peer Conflict Scale–20 item version (PCS-20) among a Portuguese forensic sample (N = 192) of incarcerated male juvenile offenders (M = 16.62 years; SD = 1.52 years; age range = 13-18 years). The PCS-20 demonstrated good psychometric properties in terms of its four-factor structure, internal consistency, convergent validity, and discriminant validity that generally justify its use among incarcerated male youth. The findings provide additional support for the extension of the PCS-20 across different cultures, ethnic groups, and samples
