%0 Journal Article %T Somos un pueblo sin recuerdos: Las propuestas de independencia literaria %A Salto %A Graciela %J Revista Pilquen %D 2010 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X the process of political independence of south american territories was accompanied by intense debates on the most appropriate instruments to achieve effective cultural independence. these debates included the need to devise national literatures and provide them with a specific language that could break the spanich legacy, which was one of the objectives declaimed in many social gatherings few years after the battle of ayacucho. this paper critically adresses one of these debates that brought closer many learned men from chile and r¨ªo de la plata to discuss the value of the language so called araucano in that period. this araucano consideration is discussed in this paper in conjunction with the nineteenth-century literary independence proposals by crossing studies on language ideologies and literary historiography. %K national literature %K national language %K indigenous languages %K independences. %U http://www.scielo.org.ar/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1851-31232010000100014&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
