%0 Journal Article %T RELACIONES ANAT¨®MICAS ENTRE LA ARTERIA CEREBELAR ANTERIOR INFERIOR Y EL NERVIO TRIG¨¦MINO %A Mandiola %A E %A Olave %A E %A Alarc¨®n %A E %J Revista chilena de anatom¨ªa %D 2002 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %R 10.4067/S0716-98682002000300010 %X the relationships between the anterior inferior cerebellar artery and the trigeminal nerve has clinical importance, for example, some diseases promoted by neurovascular compression, aneurism and expansive process. based on data in existing literature, we studied this neurovascular relation considering side, sex and the cephalic index of the specimens. we studied 70 human cerebellum obtained from cadavers of both sexes with anthropological registrations. its vascular system was injected with neoprene, fixed in formaldehyde solution and dissected using a surgical microscopy. acording to cephalic index we classified them in dolicho-mesocephalics and brachycephalics groups. the anterior inferior cerebellar artery contacts with trigeminal nerve on the right side in 19 % in masculine sex and in 7 % in feminine sex; in 16 % in the dm, in 13 % in the brachycephalics. the authors think that the variability observed is important towards the evidente heterogeneity of our indoamerican populations. %K anterior inferior cerebellar artery %K trigeminal nerve %K cephalic index. %U http://www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0716-98682002000300010&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
