%0 Journal Article %T ESPECIES DE LOS G¨¦NEROS Thrips Y Frankliniella (THYSANOPTERA: THRIPIDAE) ASOCIADAS A CULTIVOS EN LA PROVINCIA DE GUANT¨¢NAMO %A Rodr¨ªguez-Romero %A A %A Posos Ponce %A P %A Yoannia %A Castillo Duvergel %A Suris Campos %A Moraima %J Revista de Protecci£¿3n Vegetal %D 2011 %I Centro Nacional de Sanidad Agropecuaria %X studies carried out in the order thysanoptera are mainly concentrated in the western region of cuba. with the objective to determining species of the genera thrips and frankliniella, found associated with cultivated plants in guantanamo province, 34 species cultivated at different localities of the ten municipalities of the province were sampled from 2007 to 2010. the samples were collected by striking the plants over a white cardboard. the specimens were clarified and mounted on slides and identified using the keys for the region. the presence of 17 species was detected, four corresponding to thrips and 13 to frankliniella. the most frequently intercepted species were frankliniella insularis hood, frankliniella cephalica crawford and frankliniella schultzei trybom with 73, 5; 64, 7 and 64, 7% repectively. the crops with the highest number of thrips species were cucumber, string bean, pumpkin and beans. the species frankliniella borinquen hood, frankliniella chamulae johansen, frankliniella gossypiana hood, frankliniella invasor sakimura and thrips flavus schrank are new reports in cuba. %K thysanoptera %K frankliniella %K thrips %K cuba. %U http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1010-27522011000300002&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
