%X the prevalence of systemic arterial hypertension in patients with pulmonary disease is unknown, but it could be similar to the rest of the population. however, treatment could be different, as beta blockers are generally contraindicated in patients with bronchial asthma and copd, and the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors can induce cough. this paper reviews the different classes of antihypertensive drugs that can be used in patients with pulmonary diseases, with focus in bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
