%X the selection of an undergraduate institution may be one of the most important decisions in an individual's life. an abundance of literature recommends a series of aspects to take into consideration, but few quantitative studies look at the factors students analyze when choosing a university. in view of this fact, the current article presents the results of an empirical study carried out in ciudad ju¨¢rez, chihuahua, where 300 undergraduate students were surveyed in relation to the attributes they took into account when deciding on a university. factor analysis revealed that the students considered the economic situation, institutional and academic quality, and the school's infrastructure and administration.
