%0 Journal Article %T Los profesores universitarios: entre la exigencia profesional y el compromiso ¨¦tico-social %A Ch¨¢vez Gonz¨¢lez %A Guadalupe %A Benavides Mart¨ªnez %A Benigno %J Sin¨¦ctica %D 2011 %I Instituto Tecnol¨®gico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente %X this work derives from the research on ''university teaching against change: a professional requirement and an ethical commitment''. the purpose of this research is to establish an objective-subjective relation between the numerous tasks and activities carried out by teachers within the university as part of their academic role and according to educational change processes. it also takes into consideration the ethical-social commitments that the teaching profession assumes while trying to fulfill its goals. it includes the current analysis and thoughts on the subject based on reviewed institutional documents, texts, comments, and especially, from ideas of university teachers interviewed for that purpose during 2009 and 2010. this research also intends to demonstrate the tension and contradictions of the forced relationship between the demands of the academic profession and the ethical commitments derived from it and from institutional standards. it interlinks with the developments that the authors have carried out in the universidad autonoma de nuevo leon interinstitutional project: professional ethics in graduate studies (coordinated by anita hirsch adler, professor-researcher from the universidad nacional autonoma de mexico) from 2006 to 2010. this project covers teacher¡¯s ethics, a subject that is the center of this research. %K professional demand %K teachers %K ethical commitment. %U http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1665-109X2011000200003&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
