%X this article explores the reasons why legal recognition for reproductive rights is out of step with legal recognition for sexual rights, through an analysis of three perspectives: historical; religious moral, notably roman catholic; and, finally, legal. the article concludes by presenting the advances for democracy and for the citizenship of homosexuals (gays and lesbians) and heterosexual women that would come from legal recognition for sexual rights.
