%X the most different religious orders played vital role since the beginning of the occupation of territory of maranh£żo. the study, however, is a subject little discussed. this article intends to collaborate with this question by analyzing the bad behaviors and the transgressions committed by some members of the regular clergy in colonial maranh£żo, using as sources the episcopal court and overseas council processes.
