%0 Journal Article %T La construcci¨®n de una Cultura Ambiental mediante la Educaci¨®n formal en Puebla (M¨¦xico) %A Fern¨¢ndez-Crisp¨ªn %A Antonio %J Utop¨¬a y Praxis Latinoamericana %D 2009 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X the objective of this work was to describe the concept of the civilization and environmental education model transmitted in schools of the municipality of puebla. several research methodologies were applied from the theoretical perspective of social representations. overall, teachers and students evidence a general concern for the environment, without knowing what to do. this concern is grounded in very little information; thus, teachers and children have constructed a £¿thematic language£¿ about concepts such as pollution and deforestation, allowing them to treat this issue superficially without questioning the way in which we see, transform and establish ourselves on the planet. three extensive socially constructed development models coexist, which imply different degrees of moral judgment development. the weak sustainable development model predominates, which implies the development of conventional moral judgment and an anti-modernist position (the problems of modernity are recognized, but solutions are proposed from within it). a pedagogical model is proposed that considers the complexity of social relationships in the educational system, as well as the internal psychological processes of the students, in order to allow a continuous dialog among the diverse actors participating in the process. %K formal environmental education %K development models %K social representations %K basic education %K sustainable development. %U http://www.scielo.org.ve/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1315-52162009000100012&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
