%X this article outlines the search for common and differentiating elements in the unfolding of capitalist modernity in chile and bolivia and its representations, which proposed naturalization of the set of socio-cultural (and even political) transformations that the development of capitalism established for the region from the second half of the nineteenth century onwards. it is therefore a study of the unfolding of some ideological facets of capitalist modernity in two countries of latin america and not a comparative study of these countries.
