%X A sphingosine kinase (SPHK) type 2 inhibitor, SG-12, inhibited the SPHK2 activity in A20/2J cells and promoted Fas-dependent cell death. The effect of SG-12 on cell death was relieved by SPHK2 transfection but not by SPHK1 transfection. The results suggest a SPHK2-specific suppression of Fas-dependent cell death.
