The average quantities of these metals in the soils studied were: 0.37, 15.9, 5.54, 8.26 and 29.7 mg¡¤kg-1, respectively, and exceeded the average values in the control batch. Coefficients of correlation between the content of the elements studied in soils and the distance from the factory were negative, but statistically significant only in the case of copper and nickel. The highest average quantities of Cd, Pb, Cu and Zn were noted at the distance of 25 m from the factory. Notable is the high content of zinc and cadmium in soils from some measuring sites, whose maximum concentrations reached 100.8 and 1.16 mg¡¤kg-1, respectively. %K heavy metals %K industry %K soil pollution %U http://versita.metapress.com/content/m9h1g3215l768366/?p=162b7c903a1d4eee9d1d34676a8f6cd1&pi=6
