%X The aim of the present work was to analyse biometric parameters of the Silesian horse population over a period of 60 years. The research material consisted of almost 11 000 horses. The post-German breeding material was accepted as the basis of the breed, and then the project traced the changes that the population underwent as a result of inconsistent breeding policy. Zoometric indices were found to vary considerably over the years and there was a definite reaction to breeding selection, leading to changes in animal type during a short period of time.
