In both studied lakes TBN and CFU were much greater in the surface layer than in the susbsurface water. In nonestuarine lake the rate of secondary production of bacterioneuston was higher than that of bacterioplankton. Conversely, in the estuarine lake the level of production of planktonic bacteria was higher than of neustonic bacteria. All studied bacteriological parameters displayed a distinct seasonal variability. The taxonomic composition of bacterioneuston and bacterioplankton inhabiting both studied lakes was dominated by bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae family. In Lake Gardno bacteria of the Aeromonas - Vibrio group and in Lake Do gie Wielkie bacteria of Flavobacterium - Cytophaga group were also numerous. %K coastal lake %K bacterioneuston %K bacterioplankton %K abundance %K production %K taxonomy %U http://versita.metapress.com/content/t8241m0122760u71/?p=8a43bd2befe04443a105b65ed45cee9a&pi=4
