We have studied beetle abundance, diversity, and distribution in response to anthropogenic activities (farming, urbanization, etc.). Two collecting methods were used: soil monoliths extraction, and sifting and processing of soil and litter samples in a mini-winkler extractor. This study was conducted in the central-western part of Ivory Coast, near Oum¨¦ in eight agroecosystems with five types of habitats. Our results showed that secondary forests had the highest beetle abundance, but the highest diversity was found in the fallows. The families represented in the majority of agroecosystems are Staphylinidae, Scydmaenidae, Curculionidae, Pselaphidae, Scarabaeidae and Carabidae. The regenerating forest plantations and cocoa plantations were characterized by lower beetle abundance and diversity. The study demonstrated that beetle abundance and diversity were affected by human activities and depended on the intensity of land use. Les Col¨¦opt¨¨res sont une composante des arthropodes qui participent ¨¤ l¡¯enrichissement et ¨¤ la circulation des ¨¦l¨¦ments min¨¦raux de la liti¨¨re et du sol. L¡¯abondance et la diversit¨¦ des Col¨¦opt¨¨res ont donc fait l¡¯objet d¡¯une ¨¦tude pour voir l¡¯impact des activit¨¦s anthropog¨¦niques (agriculture, urbanisation, etc.). Deux m¨¦thodes de collecte ont ¨¦t¨¦ utilis¨¦es : extraction ¨¤ partir des monolithes du sol, et extraction des Col¨¦opt¨¨res ¨¤ partir des winklers apr¨¨s tamisage des ¨¦chantillons de sol et de liti¨¨re. Les travaux se sont d¨¦roul¨¦s dans le centre ouest de la C te d¡¯Ivoire, pr¨¨s de Oum¨¦ dans 8 agro¨¦cosyst¨¨mes formant cinq types d¡¯habitat. Il ressort des r¨¦sultats que les for¨ºts secondaires ont l¡¯abondance la plus ¨¦lev¨¦e mais, la diversit¨¦ la plus ¨¦lev¨¦e est trouv¨¦e en jach¨¨res. Les familles pr¨¦sentes dans la majorit¨¦ des agro¨¦cosyst¨¨mes sont les Staphylinidae, Scydmaenidae, Curculionidae, Pselaphidae, Scarabaeidae et les Carabidae. Les agro¨¦cosyst¨¨mes rebois¨¦s et les cacaoy¨¨res sont caract¨¦ris¨¦s par les plus faibles abondances et diversit¨¦s.
