%X The general presumption is that the informal economy more specifically Motor Cyclist plays a very critical role in ensuring the resilience of Nigerian economy. However, the extent of its impact as well as its contribution to employment generation is largely unknown. It is in the light of this that the paper examines the impact of Motor Cyclist on employment generation in Northern Nigeria. Data were collected from 250 Motor Cyclist in selected State of Northern Nigeria using multi ¨C stage sampling techniques. The results of the analysis indicate that wages and profits are not important in the determination of labour employment in the Motor Cyclist due to informality of the business, but investment is significant and important toward labour demand. The results also indicate that a positive relationship exist between employers wage with wages of other firms (competitors), experience and profit. More so, the study finds out generally that Motor Cyclist has contributed to employment generation in Northern Nigeria. The study, therefore, recommended the need for adequate credit facilities, infrastructures, establishment of training school for Motor Cyclist.
