%T Effect of Diospyros kaki Extract in Enhancing Anoxia Endurance in Rats

%X This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of Diospyros kaki Extract in enhancing anoxia endurance. The mice of experimental groups were given Diospyros kaki Extract once a day for 30 days, with the dosage of 30, 60, 180 mg/kg BW, respectively. And the negative control group was given distilled water. Then, after 30 days the survival time of mice were measured in anoxia with normal air pressure, in poisoning by nitrite and in acute lack of blood in brain. The results showed that the survival time of experimental groups at dosages of 180 mg/kg BW in anoxia with normal air pressure, 30 mg/kg in poisoning by nitrite and 30, 60, 180 mg/kg BW in acute lack of blood in brain were all longer than that of negative group (P < 0.01). It was concluded that Diospyros kaki Extract had a significant effect for enhancing anoxia endurance.
