%X This study was aimed to optimize conditions for protein-removing from ginseng polysaccharides.The protein-removing rate,retaining rate of polysaccharides and uronic acid were used as indicators.Results of two protein-removing methods(i.e.,Sevag method and TCA method) were compared.And the optimized protein-removing conditions were obtained by orthogonal test.The results of Sevag method were better than TCA method.The optimized condition for protein-removing from ginseng polysaccharides was that Sevag reagent volume was equal to 1/3 times of 5% ginseng polysaccharides solution.And the volume ratio of CHCl3 and normal butanol was 4∶1.The protein-removing process was conducted 6 times.It was concluded that the method is efficient and can be used for the separation and refinement of ginseng polysaccharides.
