%X Drug-diet Maca is an important raw material for health food. The maca industry in Yunnan province is developing very fast in recent years. But because of late beginning and poor foundation reasons, there is still a big gap in terms of cultivation and process compared with foreign countries. This paper expounded the present situation of maca industry in Yunnan province in view of planting bases, processing enterprises, advantage regional distribution, cultivation and preliminary processing system, economic efficiency. Main factors affecting the maca industry were analyzed and some advices were gived as follows. 1) To strengthen leadership and organization and to grasp macro controls; 2) To increase financial input, widen investment sources; 3) To accelerate the construction of raw material planting and processing bases; 4) To enhance modern scientific research and development efforts, and to build scientific and technological supporting system; 5) To quicken the development of leading enterprises; 6) To construct good marketing system; 7) To promote integral development, and to strictly control product quality.
