The comparison is made withresults obtained in a previous study based on fixedsolar collectors. Tracking surfaces with fixed east-westaxes and surfaces that can be rotated about twoorthogonal axes are considered. Insolations on fixedand movable surfaces are calculated from hourlyglobal and diffuse irradiation data. The reduction inthe necessary collecting surface in order to achievesimilar heat quantities is evaluated. The reportedresults apply to the region of Timisoara, Romania, situated on the 45 deg. northern parallel. Thecalculation is based on recent local measurements ofthe hourly irradiance. %K solar radiation %K solar collectors %K collecting surface %K tracking collectors %K thermal solar installations %K stock raising %U http://electroinf.uoradea.ro/reviste%20EEE/volumes/Cuprins_JEEE_Nr_2_2011_files/JEEE_Vol4_Nr2_Oct2011.pdf
