%X A partir de la constataci¨®n de que la ¨¦cfrasis ocupa un lugar central en la historia del arte y la traducci¨®n en la historia de la literatura, el art¨ªculo relaciona la ¨¦cfrasis y la traducci¨®n desde una perspectiva comparativa. Plantea una lectura intertexual y cr¨ªtica de una serie de analog¨ªas entre traducci¨®n y pintura que van desde Joachim du Bellay en el siglo XVI hasta Alejandra Pizarnik en el siglo XX; asimismo, analiza sint¨¦ticamente las posibles coincidencias y diferencias entre los rasgos que caracterizan la ¨¦cfrasis y la traducci¨®n desde el punto de vista de los estudios sobre la ¨¦cfrasis. Tras abordar los ensayos de Mme. de Sta l (1816) y Virginia Woolf (1933) sobre el problema de la traducci¨®n interling¨¹¨ªstica en conexi¨®n con la influencia del grupo de Coppet y el c¨ªrculo de Bloomsbury en el campo de las ideas est¨¦ticas, se comenta la teor¨ªa po¨¦tica expuesta por otro miembro de Bloomsbury, Roger Fry, en el pr¨®logo a su versi¨®n de la poes¨ªa de Mallarm¨¦ (1921). Dicha teor¨ªa invoca al mismo tiempo la traducci¨®n y la pintura, y est¨¢ relacionada con las exigencias que presenta la traducci¨®n de la poes¨ªa ecfr¨¢stica, es decir, de poemas cuyos referentes son obras de arte. The present article examines the relationship between ekphrasis and translation from a comparative perspective. It proposes an intertextual, critical reading of a series of analogies between translation and painting, from Joachim du Bellay in the 16th century to Alejandra Pizarnik in the 20th century; it also undertakes a synthetic analysis of the possible coincidences and differences between the characteristic features of ekphrasis and translation from an ekphrastic studies point of view. After a discussion of the essays of Mme. de Sta l (1816) and Virginia Woolf (1933) on the problem of inter-linguistic translation in the context of the influence of the Coppet Group and the Bloomsbury Group on the field of aesthetics, we analyse the poetic theory put forward by another member of the Bloomsbury Group, Roger Fry, in the prologue to his translation of Mallarm¨¦¡¯s poetry (1921). This theory invokes translation and painting, and it is related to some problems posed by the translation of ekphrastic poetry, that is to say, poems which have works of art as their framework of reference.
