%0 Journal Article %T Caso (azda) Posledn¨¢ ve era: Freedom of Expression and Religious Truth in Slovak Democratization Processes %A Tiziana D¡¯Amico %J Slavica TerGestina %D 2011 %I %X The article explores, through the case of Martin Kasarda¡¯s novel (azda) Posledn¨¢ ve era (1991) and the ensuing controversy and complaints of public insult against the author and the publishers by some members of the Slovak Parliament, the article explores the difficult process of democratization in Slovakia during the period following the end of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. The author focuses on the clash between two fundamental civil rights such as freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and between culture and politics.
