%X Estudos sobre o direito de crian as e adolescentes t¨ºm mostrado que o sistema socioeducativo n o ¨¦ t o efetivo quanto desejado em termos de garantir os direitos previstos pelo Estatuto da Crian a e do Adolescente (ECA). Este trabalho objetivou investigar se a Doutrina da Prote  o Integral, principal diretriz do ECA, est¨¢ plenamente inserida no trabalho socioeducativo, a partir da perspectiva dos socioeducadores de uma Unidade de Interna  o. Foi utilizado um question¨¢rio para coleta dos dados, que investigou sobre a efetividade percebida das seguintes caracter¨ªsticas das medidas socioeducativas (MSE): 1) aplica  o de acordo com as caracter¨ªsticas da infra  o, disponibilidade de servi os e circunstancias sociofamiliares; 2) aspectos coercitivos e educativos; 3) envolvimento familiar e comunit¨¢rio; 4) seguran a e prote  o ¨¤ vida. Encontrou-se um predom¨ªnio de respostas que indicam que apenas ¨¤s vezes as caracter¨ªsticas s o efetivadas. Considera-se ent o que a Doutrina de Prote  o Integral deve ser melhor trabalhada junto aos agentes e a institui  o, para que a mesma possa ser desenvolvida plenamente nas pr¨¢ticas socioeducativas. Para atingir esse objetivo, ¨¦ importante promover uma efetiva integra  o dos pap¨¦is do governo, da fam¨ªlia, da sociedade civil e outras entidades envolvidas no sistema de medidas socioeducativas. Abstract Studies on child and adolescent rights have shown that the socio-educational care system is not as effective as desired in guaranteeing the rights established by the Child and Adolescent Statute. The objective of this study was to investigate whether the Doctrine of Integral Protection, which is the main guideline of the Child and Adolescent Statute, is embedded in the work provided by the socio-educational care system, according to the opinion of professionals that work in a protective custody unit. A questionnaire was used for data collection, which assessed the perceived effectiveness of the following socio-educational measures: 1) application of measures according to the characteristics of the law violation, availability of care services and social-familial circumstances; 2) coercive and educational aspects; 3) family and community involvement; 4) safety and protection of life. Results showed that the desired characteristics of the protective measures are present sometimes only, according to the professionals. Based on this, it is concluded that the Doctrine of Integral Protection should be discussed among professionals and within institutions, in order for it to be fully implemented in the socio-educational care system.
