B¨¹lent Fi£¿ek£¿io£¿lu %J Beden E£¿itimi ve Spor Bilim Dergisi %D 2010 %I %X The aim of this study is to determine what the families of the children who attend a sport academy for football gainpsychologically through sport. It has been studied on 101 parents (Xage =42.4¡À8.4) which consist of 34 female(Xaged=39.8¡À9.6) and 67 male (Xage =44.7¡À5.2) and whose sons (Xage =11.8¡À2.1) attend four different sport schools in thecity center of Konya including (Galatasaray, 12 Dev Adam, Be ikta and Bah e ehir ). The acquisitions of the participantshave been evaluated by applying ¡°A scale of psychological gains in sports¡±. After analyzing the results, we have found outthat by sending their children to a sport school or club the parents respectively obtain these subconsciously: ¡°supervising¡±,¡°identification¡±, ¡°getting a social status¡±, ¡°self-respect¡±. In the parameter of inequality of monthly incomes of the families,it has been ascertained that there have been some meaningful changes on the families who have an income less than 2000Turkish Liras (TLs) monthly by 'identification' with the families whose income is more than 2000 TLs. Besides, in theparameter of the educational level of parents, there have been positive subconscious gains (in supervising, identification,getting a social status, self- respect) in favor of the parents with a low level of education by comparison with the parentswho have a diploma from a university or who have done a master's degree.
