%X Objectiu. Analitzar la situaci¨® actual que caracteritza el patrimoni bibliogr¨¤fic de M¨¨xic, per determinar les possibles vies d'actuaci¨® que permetin garantir la perman¨¨ncia dels objectes custodiats en totes les institucions, p¨²bliques o privades. -- Metodologia. An¨¤lisi hist¨°rica de les institucions de cust¨°dia, en especial de la Biblioteca Nacional de M¨¦xico i la seva relaci¨® jur¨ªdica amb les altres institucions del patrimoni cultural mexic¨¤. Aquesta relaci¨® s'estableix per mitj¨¤ de la revisi¨® dels textos jur¨ªdics per determinar semblances i difer¨¨ncies en el reconeixement del patrimoni bibliogr¨¤fic i la valoraci¨® corresponent. -- Resultats. L'a llament que s'ha produ t de la Biblioteca Nacional de M¨¦xico en el marc de l'esfera cultural i de la legislaci¨® corresponent, no li permet apuntalar projectes d'inter¨¨s general amb finalitats a llarg termini i de naturalesa patrimonial. Aix¨° impedeix que aquesta instituci¨® aconsegueixi constituir-se com a capdavantera de pol¨ªtiques culturals que protegeixin adequadament el llegat bibliogr¨¤fic del pa¨ªs.Objective. To analyze the current state of the bibliographic heritage of Mexico in order to identify possible courses of action that might ensure the permanence of objects housed in public and private institutions. -- Methodology. Historical analysis of custodial institutions, in particular that of the National Library of Mexico and of its legal relationship with the other institutions of Mexican cultural heritage. An understanding of this relationship is obtained by reviewing legal documents so as to identify similarities and differences in the recognition afforded the bibliographic heritage and the way in which it is appraised. -- Results. The isolation suffered by the National Library of Mexico within the framework of the wider cultural sphere and the prevailing legislation does not allow it to support heritage projects of general interest and with long-term goals. This is preventing the Library from establishing itself as a leader of cultural policies that might provide adequate protection to the country s bibliographic heritage.
