%X Objetivo. Analizar la situaci車n actual que caracteriza al patrimonio bibliogr芍fico de M谷xico, para determinar las posibles v赤as de actuaci車n que permitan garantizar la permanencia de los objetos custodiados en todas las instituciones, sean p迆blicas o privadas. -- Metodolog赤a. An芍lisis hist車rico de las instituciones de custodia, en especial de la Biblioteca Nacional de M谷xico y su relaci車n jur赤dica con las otras instituciones del patrimonio cultural mexicano. Relaci車n que se realiza a trav谷s de la revisi車n de los textos jur赤dicos para determinar semejanzas y diferencias en el reconocimiento del patrimonio bibliogr芍fico y de su valoraci車n. -- Resultados. El aislamiento que se ha producido de la Biblioteca Nacional de M谷xico en el marco de esfera cultural y de la legislaci車n correspondiente, no le permite apuntalar proyectos de inter谷s general con finalidades a largo plazo y de naturaleza patrimonial. Con esta condici車n se impide para dicha instituci車n que consiga constituirse en cabeza rectora de pol赤ticas culturales que protejan adecuadamente el legado bibliogr芍fico del pa赤s.Objective. To analyze the current state of the bibliographic heritage of Mexico in order to identify possible courses of action that might ensure the permanence of objects housed in public and private institutions. -- Methodology. Historical analysis of custodial institutions, in particular that of the National Library of Mexico and of its legal relationship with the other institutions of Mexican cultural heritage. An understanding of this relationship is obtained by reviewing legal documents so as to identify similarities and differences in the recognition afforded the bibliographic heritage and the way in which it is appraised. -- Results. The isolation suffered by the National Library of Mexico within the framework of the wider cultural sphere and the prevailing legislation does not allow it to support heritage projects of general interest and with long-term goals. This is preventing the Library from establishing itself as a leader of cultural policies that might provide adequate protection to the country s bibliographic heritage.
