%X La Biblioteca de la Mem辰ria es un proyecto de la Biblioteca Central d'Igualada planteado el a o 2000 para la investigaci車n, recopilaci車n, preservaci車n y difusi車n de testimonios personales. El art赤culo explica esta experiencia, las distintas l赤neas de acci車n que se siguieron, las dificultades en el desarrollo del proyecto y algunas consideraciones pr芍cticas para alcanzar los siguientes objetivos: ampliar la colecci車n local, generar nueva informaci車n, preservar la memoria hist車rica de la vida cotidiana y experiencias personales, facilitar estudios adicionales y dinamizar la biblioteca como un punto de encuentro para las personas y entidades. La proximidad de las bibliotecas p迆blicas ha sido clave en el desarrollo del proyecto porque ha facilitado la participaci車n de entidades y personas en la promoci車n de la investigaci車n y la recopilaci車n de testimonios.The Memory Library is a project that has been organised by the Central Library of Igualada since 2000 for the research, collection, preservation and dissemination of personal testimonies. The article presents this experience, the various lines of action that have been taken, the difficulties in undertaking the project and some practical considerations aimed at fulfilling the following objectives: expanding the local collection, generating new information, preserving the historical memory of everyday life and personal experiences, facilitating further studies and promoting the library as a meeting point for individuals and organizations. The quality of proximity offered by the public libraries has been a key element in the evolution of the project since it has facilitated the involvement of organizations and individuals wishing to promote the research and collection of testimonies.
