%X This communication informs that presence of the Chilean mussel, Mytilus chilensis (Hupe 1854) in the coast of the Bay of Concepcion (Chile) reported in the scientific literature is an erroneous identification, being Mytilus galloprovincialis (Lamarck 1819) the right species. Esta comunicaci車n informa que la presencia de Mytilus chilensis (Hupe 1854) citada en la literatura cient赤fica para la costa de la Bah赤a de Concepci車n (Chile) no es correcta, siendo Mytilus galloprovincialis (Lamarck 1819) la identificaci車n taxon車mica v芍lida.
