It is still a subject of immense importance in modernmedical research and it is due to the chemical constituents present in it like flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids, saponins, vitamins,minerals, proteins, carbohydrates and many others. It has shown a wide range of therapeutic potencies like antimicrobial,anticataleptic, antitoxic, immunomodulatory, analgesic, antidiabetic and cardioprotective activities.
