%X The objective of this work was to synthesize a water soluble carrier comprised of magnetite coated with chitosan for active delivery of antibiotics. The biocomposite was characterized by FT-IR, XRD and SEM. The water soluble carrier enhanced the activity of beta-lactam antibiotics (penicillins, cephalosporins) recommended for the assessment of in vitro susceptibility of Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains.
