%X This article aims to explore tensions existing in the current theory of international security after the fall of the USSR and the creation of an alleged ¡°New World Order¡±, in which US hegemony is central. The main objective is to establish if multilateralism, which was predominant as a paradigm during the ¡®90¡¯s, has been replaced by the unilateralism of the next decade or if, on the contrary, it is still prevailing in a new way.
