Research was conducted with 952 students (532 fist year students, 218 second year students, 157 third year students and 45 forth year students) from Marmara University Education Faculty and Maltepe University Education Faculty in stanbul. For the collection of data, ¡°cell phone usage determination survey¡± which was developed by the researchers, was used. In the research, various results were obtained about the cell phone owning ratios, cell phone usage habits and purposes of education faculty students some of which are as follows: a) 99.9% of the education faculty students have a cell phone. b) Education faculty students use cell phone intensively for 1-3 hours/day and ratio for usage more than 5 hours is 12.5%. c) A portion of education faculty students close to average renew their cell phones every 1-3 years. d) It was understood that education faculty students use cell phones for message sending / receiving. (75.2%) e) Sending / receiving message for the use of cell phones are examined, similar results are obtained for use for speech (75.2%); f) The use of mobile phones for games intensively "never "and" rarely " are preferred options (75.9%); g) When examined the use of mobile phones for photo / camera purpose ¡°sometimes¡± and ¡°rarely¡± options are selected by the students (65.5%); h) On the other hand , faculty of education students vary the frequency of mobile phone use for listening MP3/Music Results show 28.6% of students are ¡°often¡± use cell phones for this purpose. ¡°Sometimes¡± option is close to ¡°often¡± option (24.8%); i) Using cell phones purpose of connecting internet is also analyzed. ¡°Sometimes¡±, ¡°frequently¡± and ¡°always¡± options were reached 51.3% of the total rate in using cell phones for internet purpose. %K Cell phone %K education faculty students %K cell phone usage %K cell phone usage habits %K cell phone usage purposes %U http://www.insanbilimleri.com/ojs/index.php/uib/article/view/2523
