%X Mar Morto, um dos textos mais representativos do escritor Jorge Amado, reatualiza importantes mitos de tradi  o lusitana, percebidos por Gilbert Durand, e apresenta um personagem que corporifica os ideais de uma lusitanidade m¨ªtica, atrav¨¦s de seu car¨¢ter guerreiro. Guma, o mar¨ªtimo mais popular de Amado, traz em sua trajet¨®ria uma conduta heroica digna do imagin¨¢rio cavalheiresco. Sujeito predestinado, que n o se conforma com os limites impostos, Guma carrega com ele uma aud¨¢cia do imposs¨ªvel que o faz ser escolhido pela deusa Iemanj¨¢, sua fiel protetora. Ao Galaaz da Bahia, em di¨¢logo com A Demanda do Santo Graal, ser¨¢ destinado um lugar heroico no imagin¨¢rio do povo do cais: o salvador oculto que um dia retornar¨¢. Mar Morto, one of the most representative texts by writer Jorge Amado, updates important myths of the Lusitanian tradition, as pointed out by Gilbert Durand, and features a character who is the embodiment of the ideals of a mythical lusitanidade, through his warrior attributes. Guma, Jorge Amado¡¯s most popular sailor, brings in its path a heroic conduct worthy of the imaginary knighthood. Guma is a predestined character, who does not conform to the limits imposed. He carries with him an impossible audacity, which makes him being chosen by the goddess Yemanj¨¢, his faithful protectress. This Galaaz from Bahia, in dialogue with the A Demanda do Santo Graal, will be allocated a heroic place in the imagination of the people of the docks: the mystic savior who will return one day.
