This paper outlines on finding out the relationship of living locality, work and life style with the person¡¯s health, and development related with agriculture. Introduction of GIS. Explain the role of GIS in various areas like agriculture crop management and production, projects for propelling rural development and discusses some on going projects. Discusses some suggestions about how can information technology (IT) helps to rural development. This paper highlights how the Government, the corporate sector, NGOs and educational institutions have supported rural development by encouraging digital libraries, e-business, e-learning and e-governance. And focuses on training semi rural women in New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT) in local language adopting the suitable contextual form.
