Fifty structural beams from angelim vermelho were nondestructively evaluated and static bending modulus of elasticity (EM), transverse vibration (Edvt) and ultrasound stiffness coefficient (CLL) were calculated. Data was analyzed through linearsimple regression using Edvt and CLL as predictors of Em. The results pointed out that Edvt was the most suitable variable to estimate EM in comparison to CLL. It could be concluded that transverse vibration is recommended to grade wood from Dinizia excelsa Ducke, which presented good values of stiffness. %K Tropical wood %K ultrasound %K transverse vibration %K modulus of elasticity %U http://www.ufpel.tche.br/revistas/index.php/cienciadamadeira/article/view/139
