%X Music therapy, one of the oldest treatment methods known, dates back to thousands of years. Turks¡¯ using music therapy practices in hospitals -Ottoman and Seljuk hospitals- built with appropriate acoustic in the treatment of mental disorders, utilizing the books which included the researches done by scientists such as  bni Sina, Raz , Farab , Hasan  uur  and in Gevrekzade Hasan Efendi in music therapy and improving music therapy practices exemplarily in the period of Ottomans and Seljukians is assessed as the first serious music therapy practices. Dar¨¹  ifa is one of the names given to medical and educational establishments which give people health service depending on practice and observation and treated patients in Turkish and Islamic world. Turks started various reconstruction activities following their settlement in Anatolia. Within a short period, they built several types of artifacts such as; caravansaries, madrasahs, mosques, dar¨¹  ifas. In Seljukian and Ottoman dar¨¹  ifas, medical subjects were taught according to researches and scientific principals, and surgeons were educated at medical madrasahs as well. Medical health care service was provided in those places. In this study, of dar¨¹  ifas where music therapy was practised the ones surviving today and having importance have been analyzed so as to emphasize how curative power of art history and music was used by Turkish people centuries ago. From this point of view, Kayseri Gevher Nesibe T p Medresesi (Medical madrasah) (1206), Divri i Ulu Camii ve Dar¨¹  ifas  (Mosque and Hospital) (1228), Amasya Dar¨¹  ifas  (1309), Fatih Dar¨¹  ifas  (1470) Edirne Sultan II. Bayezid Dar¨¹  ifas  (1488), S¨¹leymaniye T p Medresesi and  ifahanesi (Medical Madrasah and Hospital) (1556) have been examined in this study as the featured ones among the institutions where music therapy was practised. zetM¨¹zi in insanlar ¨¹zerinde b rakt    psikolojik ve fiziksel etki g¨¹n¨¹m¨¹zde a  k a bilinmektedir. Bilinen en eski tedavi y ntemlerinden biri olan M¨¹zikle tedavinin ge mi i binlerce y l  ncesine dayan r. T¨¹rklerin, m¨¹zikle tedavide  bn Sina, Raz , Farab , Hasan  uur  ve Gevrekzade Hasan Efendi gibi bilim adamlar n n yapt klar  ara t rmalar n yer ald    kitaplardan faydalanarak, Sel uklu ve Osmanl lar d neminde, ak l hastal klar n n tedavisine uygun akustikle in a edilen hastaneler-dar¨¹  ifalarda kullanmalar , ilk ciddi m¨¹zikle tedavi uygulamalar  olarak de erlendirilir.
