%0 Journal Article %T Socio ¨C cultural background of future science teachers %A Hrubi£¿kov¨¢ Helena %A Vi£¿v¨¢der Peter %J Technol¨®gia vzdel¨¢vania %D 2011 %I %X The survey deals with the research of socio-cultural background of future Slovak science teachers. 276 students of teachers¡ä studies of the Faculty of Natural Science, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Information Technologies of the Comenius University, Bratislava were tested. Questionnaire about demographic characteristics and Family Environmental Scale (authors M. Harga ov¨¢ and T. Koll¨¢rik) have been used in the survey. A trend towards preference of teachers studies by children from rural environment, from families with both parents and more siblings, and by religious persons has been observed. They tend to be first-born children, from families where both parents are school leavers of at least of a secondary school, where mothers have reached usually higher degree of education. The results show an inter-generation continuity in the teachers¡ä profession. The family environment is in the average scale.
