In this paper, we analyzed one RPG game-chat played through the program iRPG and, based on presuppositions by Marcuschi, L.A. (2004), Ara¨²jo (2004) and Dolz, Schneuwly & Noverraz (2004), we aimed to (a) study the interaction in virtual environment; (b) analyze the discourse in RPG chat; and (c) propose an activity of genre retextualization. As a result, it was verified that working with digital textual genres enhances interaction among players; RPG, as an ¡°ongoing¡± game, can be more significant to students; and the contrast between conventional and digital genres can improve students¡¯ perception regarding peculiarities of the distinct environments. %K textual genres %K role-playing games %K chat %U http://linguagensedialogos.com.br/2011.1/textos/14-art-rafaela.pdf
