To do it, we discuss the historical evolution of the concept of literacy, from the analogic practices of reading and writing (Street, 1984, 2003; Kato, 1986; Tfouni, 1988, 1995; Kleiman, 1995; Hasan, 1996; Soares, 2002, 2004) until the rising of the hypermodal practices enacted by means of digital technologies (Snyder, 1996; Gilster, 1997; Coscarelli, 2007; Buzato, 2001, 2007, 2009a, 2009b), highlightening the critical perspectives on the diverse forms digital literacies can assume (Knobel e Lankshear, 1998, 2002; Jord o, 2007; Allred, 2008), and within this broad framework, we also detach the model of Digital Multiliteracies, proposed by Selber (2004). This theoretical discussion was originally presented in Saito (2011)'s thesis on Linguistics. This way, we hope contribute to the studies concerning digital (multi)literacies which develop in contemporaneity. %K literacy(ies) %K literacies of Culture of Paper %K Digital Literacies %K Digital (multi)Literacies %K Information and Communication Technologies %U http://linguagensedialogos.com.br/2011.1/textos/19-art-fabiano-patricia.pdf
