%X Este trabalho apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa destinada a melhor estruturar os cursos sobre Juventude e Direitos Humanos aos membros do Batalh o Escolar da Pol¨ªcia Militar do Distrito Federal, Brasil. O estudo, fundamentado na literatura sobre o comportamento policial e suas rela  es com a juventude, se baseia num question¨¢rio respondido por uma amostra n o probabil¨ªstica de 132 policiais militares, correspondente a 18,5% do citado Batalh o. Na vis o dos policiais, o jovem ¨¦ melhor caracterizado pela moda e apar¨ºncia, assim como por caracter¨ªsticas predominantemente negativas, entre outras a inseguran a pessoal e social; a falta de perspectivas; ser transgressor/ousado; ser inst¨¢vel emocionalmente e ego¨ªsta. Estas percep  es tenderam a ser mais ocorrentes em policiais de menor escolaridade e idade.This paper presents the results of a research project, the main goal of which is to contribute for the improvement of courses on Youth and Human Rights offered to the members of the School Battalion of the Military Police in the federal capital of Brazil, Brasilia. This study is based on the literature on policemen¡¯s behavior and their relationship with youth. A nonrandom sample of 132 policemen, or 18.5% of the universe, responded to a questionnaire. According to the most frequent replies, youth were best characterized by fashion and appearance, as well as by predominantly negative characteristics, such as social and personal insecurity, lack of perspectives, being transgressors/bold, and being emotionally unstable and selfish. These perceptions tended to be more frequent among younger and less educated officers.
