%X ResumenEl presente art赤culo es una rese a hist車rica del Programa de Investigaci車n en Neurociencias (PIN) de la Universidad de Costa Rica, que fue creado en el a o 1999. Actualmente, est芍 organizado en tres 芍reas de investigaci車n: Neurobiolog赤a, Neurogen谷tica y desarrollo cognitivo. La mayor赤a del personal de investigaci車n del PIN cuenta con formaci車n en Psicolog赤a, lo cual es una particularidad a nivel latinoamericano dentro del campo de la Neurociencia. Esta rese a hist車rica describe el proceso de incorporaci車n y las caracter赤sticas de los psic車logos y las psic車logas dentro del PIN. Se exponen las tem芍ticas de investigaci車n desarrolladas que cuentan con la participaci車n de estudiantes e investigadores de Psicolog赤a. El PIN, como espacio de encuentro interdisciplinario, supone fortalezas y retos, que deber芍n enfrentarse con el fin de continuar aportando calidad al 芍mbito cient赤fico nacional e internacional. AbstractThe Neuroscience Research Program at the University of Costa Rica was created in 1999. Nowadays, it∩s composed of three main research areas: Neurobiology, Neurogenetics and Cognitive Development. The majority of researchers that belong to the program have a background in psychology, an outstanding characteristic within the field of neuroscience research. This historical perspective shows the process of incorporation and the characteristics of the psychologists within the program. Here we set out the research topics that have been developed with the participation of psychology students and researchers. As an interdisciplinary meeting point, the Neuroscience Research Program has strengths and challenges that should be confronted to contribute to the scientific field both national and internationally.
