Thus, it was intended to evaluate theeffect of Airfree air purifier in reducing microbiological contamination of indoor air in a dental clinic. Methods: Thirty-six Petri dishes containing two different culture media were exposedto the air for fifteen minutes, 3 points in each dental office before, 14 and 22 days after installation and action of the air purifier. Results: After the incubation period and microbialgrowth on culture media, it was observed that there was growth in all plates except one. In the first count, before the installation of equipment, a growth of microorganisms on the plates occurred in a greater number than the second count, after 14 days. In the thirdcollection, after 22 days, there was a significant reduction in contamination of the air of the rooms studied when compared to baseline. Conclusion: It is observed that the dental offices are contaminated and this contamination is marked during or immediately after the clinical activity, and the Airfree air purifier drastically reduced microbiological contamination of these environments. %K air microbiology %K Dentistry %K bacteria %K fungi %U http://poralsciences.up.edu.br/arquivos/poralsciences/File/PAGINAS%20POS%2025_30.pdf
