%X O artigo aborda os cursos de economia ministrados por Max Weber em Freiburg e Heidelberg, ao final do s谷culo XIX, e procura situar o autor no contexto de discuss o da 谷poca. Com vistas a iluminar mais amplamente a posi  o de Weber, s o levantados aspectos da economia nas universidades alem s de ent o, assim como do entendimento acerca dos m谷todos, objeto e objetivos dessa disciplina. O texto abre perspectivas tanto para se pensar a posi  o de Weber em rela  o 角 "controv谷rsia metodol車gica" (Methodenstreit ) entre Escola hist車rica e Escola austr赤aca, entre hist車ria econ mica e teoria econ mica, como para se avaliar a importancia desses cursos para o pensamento de Weber em geral. The article examines the economics courses given by Max Weber in Freiburg and Heidelberg at the end of the nineteenth century and aims to situate the author within the context of the intellectual discussions of the time. Looking to shed more light on Weber's position, the text explores various aspects of how economics was taught in German universities at the time, as well as the discipline's understanding of methods, objects and objectives. In so doing, it provides new ways of thinking about Weber's position vis-角-vis the 'methodological controversy' (Methodenstreit) between the Historical and Austrian Schools, between economic history and economic theory, and of assessing the impact of these courses on Weber's thought in general.
