Exp e, assim, o desenvolvimento da concep  o, estrutura, objetivos e crit¨¦rios do trabalho editorial envolvido na elabora  o da Max Weber Gesamtausgabe (MWG). Al¨¦m disso, relata como se d¨¢ o processo de edi  o em si mesmo e explica quais s o as formas de financiamento e como se estabeleceu equipe de pesquisadores respons¨¢veis pelo projeto. The article provides a step-by-step reconstruction of the process that led to the new edition of the works of Max Weber. It describes the development of the concept, structure, objectives and criteria of the editorial work involved in elaborating the Max Weber Gesamtausgabe (MWG). In addition it provides an account of the editing process itself and explains how the project was founded and how the team of researchers involved was formed.
