%X The images in the Late Middle Ages played an important part in the evangelizing of the church. The political power also used the image with propagandistic ends. In the present article, we analyze boths elements and underline the lingering continuity that such uses have had in the time. Las im¨¢genes en la Baja Edad Media desempe aron un importante papel tanto en la labor evangelizadora de la iglesia como en la finalidad propagand¨ªstica y publicitaria del poder pol¨ªtico. En el presente art¨ªculo, analizamos ambos elementos subrayando las largas pervivencias que tales usos han tenido en el tiempo.
