%X The article is devoted to the problem of expressive linguistic means in the fairy tales by Oscar Wilde. Much attention is paid to the stylistic functions¡¯ analysis of the above-mentioned means and their role in the realization of the author¡¯s intention. The idiosyncrasy of the author¡¯s manner of writing is thoroughly investigated. The attempt to reconstruct the writer¡¯s message is made.
