%X An¨¢lise da percep  o, em Andr¨¦ Th¨¦vet e Jean de L¨¦ry, das quest es do estado de natureza, bondade natural e direito natural nos ind¨ªgenas brasileiros com os quais os cronistas da Fran a Ant¨¢rtica tiveram contato. Indaga-se se j¨¢ existe nos autores clara consci¨ºncia dessas quest es, ou se foram deduzidas ou mesmo treslidas por autores posteriores, que j¨¢ partiam de concep  o aprior¨ªstica sobre o assunto. Faz-se refer¨ºncia ¨¤ trajet¨®ria do direito natural de Maquiavel a Locke, com a emerg¨ºncia de um novo jusracionalismo e s o estudadas as informa  es dos dois autores. Conclui-se com a avalia  o da recep  o dos cronistas, do significado por eles atribu¨ªdo ¨¤s quest es e ao papel do direito natural em seu discurso. Os textos aparecem ent o como elemento emp¨ªrico num longo processo de estabelecimento do novo direito natural, o do "direito racional" na classifica  o de Bobbio, processo que por sua vez se conflita com outra doutrina emergente no s¨¦culo XVI - a da raz o de Estado. Analysis of perception, in Andr¨¦ Th¨¦vet and Jean de L¨¦ry, of the issues of the State of Nature, natural law and natural goodness in Brazilian indigenous who the chroniclers of Antarctic France had contact. Here, we inquire if the authors have already the clear awareness of those issues, or if it has been deducted by aftermost authors, who have an a priori conception on the subject. Reference is made to the trajectory of the natural law from Maquiavel to Locke with the emergence of a new jusracionalismo and the information of the two authors is contemplated. It concludes with an evaluation of the reception of the chroniclers, the meaning assigned by them to the issues and the role of natural law in their speech. The texts are shown as empirical element in a long process of establishment of the new natural law, the "rational law" in Bobbio's classification, a process which conflicts with other emerging doctrine in the sixteenth century - the Reason of State.
