During the first commemorations of May 1st, this date became the stage and the opportunity to amend the exclusion suffered by workers during the celebrations of the first centennial of the emancipation of Cartagena. Artisans and worker organizations turned the Day of Independence and May 1st into a sketch of historical memory and a tool to visualize a new political project for the Cartagena of the early twentieth century. %K Cartagena %K civic festivals %K social class %K social exclusion %K worker. %U http://historiacritica.uniandes.edu.co/view.php/816/index.php?id=816
